Beach & water
Feridhoo’s bikini beach runs roughly 600 metres along the island’s western shoreline, free to access, with natural palm-thatch shade and sunbeds. The island’s house reef holds an estimated 80% live coral cover, among the best of any inhabited Central Atoll island, with a shallow section (8–12m) suited to first-timers. A traditional Maldivian drum and dance performance with roots tracing back to the island’s African ancestry, still played in the evenings on Feridhoo. A genuine cultural experience, not a staged show for tourists.

Feridhoo sits at a useful point on this chain, the final stop on the North Ari ferry route and the last stop on the South Ari route, which makes it a workable base for a short multi-island trip even without a private boat.
Honest notes
Feridhoo is honest, unpolished, and real, which also means a few things worth knowing in advance. Some visitors report occasional plastic in the water, a reminder that even quiet islands aren’t immune to the wider ocean plastic problem. Sandflies can be persistent in the evenings, especially near vegetation; long, light clothing and repellent help. Don’t fly drones without permission, and don’t assume excursions run daily; boat trips depend on weather and minimum numbers.
