About ten Maldives resorts have villas with their own water slide, mostly overwater villas where the slide drops from the deck or roof straight into the lagoon. Water villas spread across the Medhufaru lagoon have slides that curl from the roof or deck straight into the water, along with a private pool, a retractable roof over the bed and glass panels in the floor. Soneva Fushi opened eight Water Retreats with slides in 2020, two facing sunrise and six facing sunset. The one-bedroom is 585 sq m and the two-bedroom 857 sq m, each with a private pool and a slide from the deck into the sea. On the island, several of the jungle beach villas also have slides into their pools, and The Den, the largest kids club in the country, has its own slide too.

Cora Cora’s Two Bedroom Lagoon Pool Villa with Slide is one of the easiest slide villas to recommend to families. It is 234 sq m with two bedrooms, a pool on the deck and a white slide into a calm, shallow lagoon, and everything is all-inclusive, from meals and drinks to the kids club. It is the slide villa we book most often for parents with children aged around 6 to 14.

The OZEN Reserve Bolifushi is the slide resort to choose if you do not want a seaplane. It is a short speedboat ride from Malé, and two overwater categories have slides: the Ocean Pool Suite with Slide of about 248 sq m for two, and the two-bedroom Ocean Pool Reserve with Slide of about 420 sq m. Gili Lankanfushi’s Private Reserve is often described as the largest standalone overwater villa in the world, at about 1,700 sq m and reached only by boat. It has bedrooms on two levels, a gym, a spa room, a cinema, a private chef and host, and a water slide from the top deck into the lagoon. It is the ultimate slide villa for a family or group.

OZEN LIFE Maadhoo added the Wind Villa with Jacuzzi and Slide in October 2025: an overwater villa with a jacuzzi on the deck and its own slide into the lagoon, aimed at couples and small families. Like its sister resort Bolifushi, it is reached by speedboat and is all-inclusive.

Inside a slide villa

What you get besides the slide

A slide villa is almost always one of the best villas at the resort, so the slide comes with a lot else: a private pool, a large deck, often a second bedroom and, at Soneva, a retractable roof over the bed and glass panels in the floor. Most are overwater, which means a ladder into the lagoon as well as the slide.

Two-bedroom slide villas at Cora Cora, Siyam World, Bolifushi and Soneva are the most popular with families: the children have their own room and the slide, and the adults have the pool. Water slide safety: five things to check

  1. Check the water depth

    Slides end in the lagoon, and depth changes with the tide. Ask whether the landing area is deep enough at low tide, especially in shallow lagoons.

  2. Children and swimming

    Most resorts expect children to be confident swimmers to use a villa slide, and an adult should always be in the water. Some ask parents to sign a waiver.

  3. Slide from the deck, not the roof, for little ones

    Lower deck slides are gentler than tall rooftop tubes. Ask which type your villa has.

  4. Currents and weather

    Do not use the slide in rough weather or strong currents, and ask the resort where the safe swimming area is.

  5. Look before you slide

    Coral, stingrays and other swimmers can be in the landing area. A quick look first is all it takes.

Which Maldives resorts have villas with water slides?

Soneva Jani, Soneva Fushi, Cora Cora Maldives, Siyam World, The OZEN Reserve Bolifushi, OZEN LIFE Maadhoo, Gili Lankanfushi (The Private Reserve) and, since 2026, Sun Siyam Vilu Reef. Most of the slides are on overwater villas and drop into the lagoon.

Can children use the villa slides?

Usually, if they are confident swimmers and an adult is in the water. Rules differ by resort, and some ask parents to sign a waiver. Check the water depth at the end of the slide at low tide.

Which slide villa resort is closest to Malé?

The OZEN Reserve Bolifushi in South Malé Atoll, about 25 minutes by speedboat. Gili Lankanfushi is about 20 minutes by boat, but only its Private Reserve has a slide.

Are slide villas more expensive?

They are usually the top categories at each resort, so they cost more than a standard villa there. At all-inclusive resorts such as Cora Cora and Siyam World, a slide villa can still cost less than a standard villa at an ultra-luxury resort.

How much does a villa with a slide in the Maldives cost?
