This Cancellation & Refund Policy explains how cancellations, amendments, credits, and refunds are handled for bookings made with or through HolidayVibe Maldives.
Travel services often involve non-refundable deposits, supplier penalties, limited-rate inventory, and time-sensitive bookings. For this reason, cancellations and refunds depend on:
Many resorts, hotels, guesthouses, transfer providers, airlines, boat operators, and activity providers have their own cancellation and refund rules. Where those rules apply to a booked service, they will usually determine the refund amount or cancellation charge for that service.
If no supplier-specific cancellation schedule has been provided in writing, or if HolidayVibe Maldives has incurred non-recoverable costs in arranging your trip, the following standard cancellation charges may apply as a reasonable estimate of losses and administrative costs, subject to applicable law:
Where actual non-recoverable supplier costs are lower than the above, we may apply the lower amount. Where supplier charges are higher and validly imposed, supplier charges may apply instead.
Deposits are generally non-refundable unless the supplier permits refund or the cancellation falls within a mandatory legal right that overrides the standard deposit rule.
Flights, seaplane transfers, domestic flights, speedboat transfers, ferries, tickets, permits, special events, and some third-party excursions may be non-refundable once confirmed, ticketed, or issued.
We will try to assist with date changes, room changes, passenger name changes, and other amendments where possible. However, amendments are not guaranteed and may be treated by suppliers as cancellations and rebookings. Additional charges, fare differences, and supplier penalties may apply.
If you wish to cancel, the lead traveller must notify us in writing by email or WhatsApp from the contact details used for the booking. The cancellation will take effect from the date and time we receive your written request.
In rare cases, a booking may be cancelled by us or a supplier due to lack of availability, operational issues, weather, safety concerns, force majeure events, supplier error, or other unavoidable circumstances.
In such cases, we may offer one or more of the following:
If travel is significantly affected by unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances such as natural disaster, serious security issues, government restrictions, or similar events, cancellation and refund outcomes will depend on supplier policies, the structure of the booking, and any mandatory rights that apply under law.
We will act reasonably and in good faith to help you understand the available options at that time.
Where a refund is approved, the timing may depend on:
Refunds will normally be returned to the original payer and, where practical, to the original payment method.
Unless otherwise confirmed in writing or required by law, the following may be non-refundable:
No refund is normally available for early departure, missed services, skipped nights, unused meals, missed transfers, weather-related missed activity windows, or services not used by choice, unless the supplier specifically agrees otherwise or applicable law requires a different outcome.
Minor corrections may be possible, but charges may apply. If incorrect information is supplied by the traveller and this affects the booking, any reissue, amendment, or cancellation cost will be your responsibility.
If you believe a refund is due, please contact us first with your booking reference and details of the issue. We will review the case with the relevant suppliers where required.
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance, especially to cover cancellation, disruption, illness, medical issues, and force majeure situations where supplier refunds may be limited or unavailable.
